just got iud-don't feel "normal"-TMI

I just had an iud put in two days ago. in a way glad I didn't do too much research, it was extremely painful and I can tolerate a bit of pain. He said it was bc mycervix moved after having 2 c sections. anyway, yesterday I could feel something there,no cramping but you could tell something was there that wasn't before. that hasgone away but now I have this weird feeling andnot sure how to explain it. almost like i'm getting my period, like something is dripping down inside of me. its not discharge. I almost think it smells bad.

also the doctor didn't say antying about checking it on my own that other sites say buti go back in 2 weeks for a sono to check it. maybe he will tell me that next visit.

Is this a paragard or a mirena? I had constant dull cramping and profuse discharge the entire 8 months I was on paragard. Anecdotally, mirena seems to be way more tolerable. In the end it wasn't for me so I had it removed. It's excellent birth control if it works for you but not every uterus is happy to host a foreign object. Good luck!

I never had an IUD but I agree with PP that if you have a bad smell, I'd call the dr. Unusual odors can be indicative of an infection.

I had a lot of discharge in the beginning but I would def follow up with doc. I have the Paragard.
