Re: rearfacing past 2
DS is 2 this week and i plan to keep him rearfacing as long as possible (within the limits of his carseat).
a few times others (including DH) have not agreed with me on safety issues and i tell them i have done extensive research on this and feel strongly that this is the safest thing for DS. usually that's the end of the disagreement.

Does anyone plan on doing/do this?
I probably will. DD is 18m.
She was in her infant carrier until 12m, so I think she'll be RF past two due to her size...

Re: rearfacing past 2
Same DD is 2.5 and DH questions it, as does everyone else. I don't really give a rats ass what they think. My kid, my choice. If you choose to switch your kid, none of my business. Your kid, your choice. No one is a bad mom for making a decision they feel is best for their child.

I am strongly considering it. I have yet to show DH the videos, but I'll have to, because right now he's skeptical. As long as DD is comfortable that way. She's not a big girl, so I don't see it being a problem.

rearfacing past 2
We went a little past two. I had to FF because he would SCREAM every time I had to stop the car. It was becoming a hazard. Now when he starts to get mad he can see why!

Re: rearfacing past 2
DS will be 4 in May and he's still RF. He's tall for his age and around 35lbs, he has no issues with it. We will change him when he reaches the RF weight limit (40lbs).

Re: rearfacing past 2
We did until 3. She hit the height max the month after her birthday, so we turned her then.

Re: rearfacing past 2
Remembering how tall my DD was at age 2, I honestly couldn't imagine her being rear facing past that age.

DS just turned 2 and is still rf. I will do so until he reaches the height/weight limits or until it becomes an issue for him.
This, except DS is almost 27 mo

Why not ? They make seats to accommodate tall children, like my seat.
