I was told no soft serve because of the risk of listeria contamination in the machines.

I was never told no soft serve by my OB and had it all the time in the summer. Any dairy product (as well as produce, meats etc) carry a risk of listeria. The most recent outbreak around here was in canteloupe. My OB never warned me about melons either for that matter.

Just had some myself tonight and a lot through my last pregnancy ... Delicious and definitely my doctor never advised against it! You should do it .... You will not regret it

I haven't heard no soft serve before and the hubby and I get TCBY just about once a week!!! I feel like their yogurt doesn't have the artificial sweeteners (most of the flavors) that some of the self serve places have! I say indulge...but you have to do what you feel comfortable with!

I don't eat any soft serve when I'm pregnant. The risk of listeria is from the machines, not the ice cream itself. Let me tell you it tastes sooooo good once the baby is out.
