Manicures
I have a wedding on Saturday and would love to get a mani/pedi, but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk. What's your opinion?

There are mixed opinions. Some say the chemicals aren't good for baby, but there is no solid evidence.

Re: Manicures
I don't do them often, but I've had two since I've been pregnant: one for a wedding, one for my baby shower. I did a gel the first time and just a regular manicure the second. I'd say just make sure you're in a well ventilated area, especially if you're going to go the acrylic route to account for fumes.

Manicures
I used to get them every week, I asked my Dr her opinion and she said 100% safe. I did cut them down to every other week though just bc it still makes me a little nervous.

I got a mani/pedi when I was around 11 or so weeks. I just told them to be careful when massaging my foot and they did. I'll get one again for my shower.

My doctor said manis and pedis are fine she just recommend going to a reputable place. I would worry more about the place sanitizing everything properly than I would worry about the fumes. It is recommend that you use formaldehyde free nail polishes like Zoya during pregnancy.

Re: Manicures
I had regular manis and never heard anything about them being bad.

Manicures
I'm trying to be really good with everything, but I've seen nothing to convince me to give up my weekly manicures. I'm actually going later today

Re: Manicures
I just came back from getting a mani! When I was pg with my first, my doctor never mentioned anything about not going to nail salons. I really doubt that being in a salon for 30 minutes is going to do any damage. If you were there for hours, maybe.

Re: Manicures
I got mani and pedi from time to time with both my pregnancies. It's not like your going every week, it's for a wedding. Perfectly fine.

the risk is supposedly if the place isnt ventilated and youre breathing in the fumes most every place you will go to is! go enjoy!

Yes, this too, but I was thinking more along the lines of certain chemicals in the polish/polish remover being absorbed into your skin. Anyhow, I got a mani/pedi yesterday, and it was awesome!

Yup. I had a pedicure EVERY week when I was pregnant. Full massage. And I had to be induced.
