Best sippy cup
Been using the take and toss but with weaning off the bottle would like something a little more substantial.
I tried these nuby leak proof straw one but it was so hard to sip from the straw it wasn't even worth it.
Any recommendations?

Best sippy cup
We use the NUK 12m+ sippy cups for ds. They have soft spouts and what I really like about them is that they have covers like the bottles do, so I don't have to worry about them not being covered when ds is at daycare, and I have never had a leak with them.

Re: Best sippy cup
Definitely, definitely the Playtex straw cups. They don't leak but they're super easy to drink from.
They used to come in clear tinted plastic, but lately all I'm seeing is these "Insulated" cups... there's no difference, except that I feel like the Insulated ones are even less likely to spill:

Best sippy cup
I second the playtex straw cups. I think my dd was about 6 or 7 months when she started using the playtex little gripper straw cups with the handles. Now that she is older she has graduated to the larger ones without handles.

Another vote for the Playtex straw cups! Once we discovered those with our first son, it's all we've ever used for both our boys!

Re: Best sippy cup
we always used playtex cups. Both hard top and straw but dd always bit the straw so they would break and they dont sell replacement straws.

Though I would say don't bother with the ones with the handles. DS never liked those and I found they leaked. DS has been using the regular cups since he was 6 months.

Re: Best sippy cup
These are my favorite! They never leak, and it has a weight on the bottom of the straw so if DC turns the cup upside down, its follows to get every last drop of water out!

Just a question, if you started cups at 6 months, what were you putting in them?

I heart you for asking that. I was thinking the same thing but I ask enough question that sometimes I feel silly for asking.

We started at 5.5 months. We put water in it. He drank about an ounce of water a day until he was like 7 months. It was more for practice.

6 months later and I still have no idea what I'm doing

I use these cups for DS and while he loves them and drinks great out of them I hate them bc they leak everywhere!! The milk actually comes up the straw by itself if its left sitting for a few minutes. DS also loves pouring his milk out of them onto the floor.
Are mine defective or something???

I haven't found any cups that don't do that with cold liquid as they warm up. They're still my favorite bc at least they're easy to clean and assemble. I find as long as DD drinks frequently enough it's okay.
