First nights sleeping in crib
At 6 weeks dd started sleeping from about 11 to 5:30 so we decided to move her into her crib. It's been 3 nights and she goes down pretty easy. Stays asleep until about 2:30-3 and then from then she gets up and cries for some comfort (either from me or a pacifier) about once an hour until her 5:30 feeding. When I go in there she goes back to sleep very easily so I don't think she is getting hungry before 5:30. I have the sound machine going too so it's not completely dark and quiet.
Just wondering if this is a transitional period. She seems to only wake up for some attention. Does it take a while for them to get comfortable or did we do this too early?

First nights sleeping in crib
I would feed her when she wakes up and see if she'll go back to sleep for a longer stretch. She may be having a growth spurt and while the pacifier is helping to settle her, perhaps the need to eat keeps waking her...

Re: First nights sleeping in crib
At 6 weeks I'd feed her when she wakes up. She's hungry! She's probably settling, but keeps waking up b/c her tummy is empty. Babies usually don't start sleeping longer stretches until they're a bit older because their stomachs are still so tiny.

I agree with the feeding. She's probably going through a growth spurt and hungry!

Waking up like that would indicate hunger to me as well.

Re: First nights sleeping in crib
I had this with dd for months. I tried feeding her but she didn't want it. She just needed the pacifier back in her mouth. I was probably up about 4-6x/night to plug in! We are in a one-bedroom apt so it's just steps to her crib. It got better once I gave her a security blanket at around 9 mos.
