first few nights in crib

my DD is almost six months and two nights ago we moved her from the rock n play sleeper in our bedroom to the crib in her own room. first night went pretty well, she woke a few times for the paci but nothing too bad. well, last night she must have awoken 15 times. every time i went in, popped the pacifier back in and she would be ok for a half hour or so. obviously, i am exhausted today and wondering if i did the right thing. should i have gone in there every time she cried?? will she wake up less and less with time? in the rock n play sleeper in our bedroom she was great, and would sleep for hours without waking.

i hope this is just a phase.

I would put a bunch of pacis around her especially where she can see them and see if she will replace them herself.

And also I would not go in right away. Give her a few mins and see if she goes back to sleep.

This! I started doing this as soon as DS was old enough to grab them himself and it works like a charm. Saved us from having to go in every time he woke up!

I went through this with my DS and I feel your pain Chat Icon

Eventually he was able to put the paci back in his mouth himself, so I used to leave a good 5 in there - LOL.

If you think it's not 100% the Paci and she is just getting used to you going in and out of her room, you may have to CIO. As hard as that is, by the 3rd night its a world of difference!!

I hear ya... my DS slept great in the Rock n Play from when we brought him home from the hospital. At 4 months we put him in his crib (hes 5 months now) and he wakes up a couple times each night for his pacifier! We are hoping its just a phase and when he gets more used to his crib it will pass?!
