Don't know what to do about sick cat
My 10 year old cat has been meowing like crazy!
Started about 6 months ago & has been getting really bad.
The past few months she's constantly on the table or anywhere licking any morsel of food she can find & she's not usually that bad.
I thought possibly thyroid but we took her to the vet & he said it might be a tumor. They did a blood test but they said they need to do a sonogram because they couldn't tell.
That visit was $450 & the sonogram will be
$315 but then what?
We can't afford any kind of operation so I hate to spend $ on the sono & we have to put her to sleep anyway (I hate even saying that )
Any suggestions?

10 is still young.
Find a way to pay for the sono to rule out the tumor theory. Ask the vet's office if they have a payment plan.
Worst case scenario she needs surgery. Best case scenario she only needs meds.
Constant eating and losing weight is not good.
The unusual meowing is her telling you that something is wrong.

Island Rescue in Bayshore has low cost vet care. 10 y/o is not old for a cat. I would find out what is wrong with her and take it from there. There is always credit cards, payment plans, etc. With the right kind of networking you also might be able to do a little fundraising if the cost is too high.

Did you do a thyroid test? A lot of the symptoms are for thyroid. Did you get blood work done?
