Switching OB/Hospital midway
So we just found out that our insurance is changing and my Dr (Trongone) is covered but my hospital (NSUH Manhasset) is not. I am soo bummed! No LIJ hospitals are covered.
After researching a ton and reading rec's on here I found Dr. Antoniadis(sp?) and he sounds awesome. He delivers at Good Sam. I am just worried b/c of all the mixed reviews with Good Sam. I was really looking forward to my private room and amazing hospital stay at NSUH, lol. Wah!! My sister went there last year with Dr.Trongone and it was great!!
The two main hospitals that are covered by my new insurance are Winthrop and Good Sam. Any thoughts/opinions??
Whoever delivered at Good Sam with Dr. A, was it a good experience, would you do it again???
Thanks for any advice, I am so flustered with having to find a new OB and hospital at this point.

Switching OB/Hospital midway
I switched to dr A at 20 weeks. Best decision I ever made. He is the best.
I delivered at good Sam not the best but I would deliver in a garbage dump if Dr A was delivering.

Switching OB/Hospital midway
I've heard amazing things about Dr A, and really considered switching to him bc I had so many complications at the beginning of my pregnancy- but the only thing that stopped me was the reviews of Good Sam from my friends who delivered there. But that being said - they have all switched doctors bc they were so unhappy with Good Sam except the 3 who see Dr A.. they all love him enough.. They all love him and put a lot of trust in him

Re: Switching OB/Hospital midway
Also, if you really want to switch call his office cause I think I heard that he was going to start to deliver at Southside because he used to deliver at Plainview and they closed/closing the maternity there.
Not sure if its true since I only go for yearly visits now. But honestly Good Sam was not that bad. Its not super modern like many of the LIJ hospitals and you will not get a private room unless its empty when you deliver but my care was fine. And my delivery nurses were amazing!!!!
oppps never mind since south side is LIJ

Re: Switching OB/Hospital midway
I love Dr A and can't imagine going to another dr (so glad I found him!). I already planned on Good Sam b/c of him and how close it is to my house and job so i guess you take the good with the bad
