Question RE Laproscopic surgery
Anyone on here just have it as a diagnostic tool? We're still unexplained but my RE wants to do this to rule out Endo as a possible cause.
Also- can you tell me what the recovery process is like, if you think it made a difference, good bad or otherwise...TIA!

I had/have Unexplained and one of the many RE's I saw suggested I get a Lap. So he did and the result was mild endo.
Needless to say it wasn't the reason for my IF; because almost another 3 years later after the surgery still not PG.
The recovery is easy; its coming out of the anesthesia that is probably the worst. I came home and laid down on the couch all day with a heating pad on my shoulders to prevent the any trapped gas from the Lap (which I had read about).

Exactly this! I went through the same recovery process. I too had mild endo.

I did. Both my OB and RE suspected mild endo. Although that was the case, I don't attribute it to my failed cycles or losses.
Recovery wasn't too bad at all. I made sure to get up and walk to prevent the gas pains. No lifting, vacuuming, etc, because you have three small incisions.

Thanks everyone. I'm just not even sure if its worth it. My DH is afraid of me doing this but I don't even know what I should do. I'm not going to do IVF so does it even matter?

Trust me I was scared and not too keen on the idea. Most especially since my periods were beyond normal and never had any issues for me to even think I had endo for a second.
But at that point; I had nothing to lose but just rule one extra thing out.
I wasn't planning on IVF either; so whether IVF is your plan or not; shouldn't matter.
But it's totally up to you.

My lap was the best decision of my life. It completely saved my uterus and tubes.
I was uncomfortable for a day but walked a lot so the gas could dissipate. I also had a D&C with mine so I bled for a few days but nothing extreme. Overall, fairly easy and a great diagnostic tool. I got pregnant with my son soon after :)

Question RE Laproscopic surgery
Please listen to your body... it is SO worth it if you decide to go through with it. You could prevent many potential problems, discover something to rule out (my friend had a kidney growth) or just remove some worry. The recovery is only a day and so mild. If you do it on a Friday, it will mean a restful weekend.
