Vet Recommendations Please
we are going to be bringing home a puppy to join our family in November. I placed a deposit on a Shetland Sheepdog, and since we are the first deposit; we get first pick of the litter. We couldnt be more excited to add a new member of the family. We are trying to plan ahead, as we know the puppy will need to see the Vet the first week he or she is home with us. Can you please recommend a good Vet in Eastern Suffol? We live in Holtsville, so I dont want to go too far from home; I would like the Vet to be close in the event of an emergency.
TIA

Re: Vet Recommendations Please
I give my absolute highest recommendation to Dr. Gurtman at Towneline Vet Group in Hauppauge - he is wonderful, a true animal lover, and has such care/compassion for what he does. He is a vendor on here!

Once you actually meet him and visit his state-of-the-art facility, you'll see the difference between him and traditional vet / animal hospitals. I also groom and board my dogs there - fantastic!

We've used Farmingville Animal Hospital in the past, and now use Sayville Animal Hospital. I prefer Farmingville, though it's been a while, but both are great.
I"ve had animal have surgery at both and both were amazing. My dog had serious surgery at Sayville and I could not be happier with how he was taken care of and the outcome.

I love Sayville Hospital for Animals on Sunrise service road. They are very nice there and seem to be reasonable priced.

I can't help with the vet recommendation but I can say you are going to love your new little sheltie. I have had shelties all my life they are a wonderful breed.

We go to Dr. Gurtman ever since Dani recommended him years ago, and we couldn't be happier. A few of us from the Pets board have stories about him and his practice going above and beyond and always making us and our pets feel welcome.

Vet Recommendations Please
For those of you in Nassau or Queens - I recommend Dr. Hardoon. Her office number is 516-248-1489. I have been taking my 2 dogs and cat to her for years. She used to be in Great Neck, but she recently opened a new office near Mineola. She is great, and so gentle with my pets. There is never any waiting for an appointment and she will spend lots of time with you and always makes you and your pets feel welcome.
