Confused about north shore and LIJ

I'm confused about the difference between north shore university hospital in manhasset and LIJ in new Hyde park. Do they both have a katz medical center? Are they both part of LIJ? I remember hearing north shore LIJ and I thought they were one hospital but when I looked it up I realized they were 2 hospitals. Is one better than the other ?

North shore LIJ is a health system. They have lots of hospitals.

No there is only one Katz.

North Shore LIJ health system is the proper name of the entire Health System. Within it there exists long island jewsih Medical Center and North shore Manhasset.

Katz women's hospital is the brand new building and it's part of LIJ. Manhasset has a Katz wing or pavilion or something like that. Not an entire new building. The Katz in LIJ was built. In Manhasset it was renovated

So the Katz building is in New Hyde Park? How can I find doctors affiliated with that hospital? WHat do I search for? Katz or LIJ affiliations.

Both are under north shore lij health system. LIJ hospital had the Katz women's hospital - a brand new building with new private rooms and new labor and delivery rooms. North shore university hospital has the Katz women's pavilion - it's a brand new maternity wing and has all private rooms that are the same as LiJ - but the l&d rooms are not brand new.

As far as which is better -- they are part of the same NSLIJ system and they both have excellent reputations. I go to the OBs from the faculty practice linked with LIJ/Katz Women's and have been happy with them through an emergency c-section and preeclampsia in the old maternity wing followed by a VBAC a couple of years later in the new facility. The NICU is phenomenal, too (Cohen's Children's, formerly called Schneider's).

North Shore in Manhasset and LIJ in New Hyde Park are both affiliated with LIJ.

In NHP there is a Katz Women's Center and at North Shore there is also a Katz. I visited a friend at North Shore and I delivered at LIJ. The rooms look VERY similar and everyone has a private L&D and post partum room. The PP rooms at North Shore are bigger then the ones in NHP. I actually liked them better. My friend said the L&D room is smaller though at North Shore.
