where to take 13-14 month olds to play?

I have some new Mom friends that want to meet up to play. We're not really into going to each others houses. Are there any fun indoor places to take toddlers for drop in play? I also thought about the LICM? Gymboree requires a membership. Anywhere else in nassau county? Thanks

Eta: we are ftwm so only weekend options (library is out)

There's Le Play Cafe in Bellmore, but for kids under 2, you have to stay in the play area with them (otherwise, kids can play, and parents can sit and chat and have coffee). My DD had a great time there at her cousin's birthday party, and she was 15 months old at the time.

A lot of open play places are closed during the weekends for parties. It's annoying.

But you could call and see if Le Play Cafe is open. Really fun place in Bellmore.

Also, Once Upon a Treetop in Plainview (They are usually closed on weekends though).

Broadway mall has a small play place by the food court.

Check out your local library for events. I know my library has open play sessions each month for all ages that DH takes DS to when he is off, he enjoys it a lot.

We were just at once upon a tree top this wknd for a party and DS (almost 1) loved it!

I love Le Play Cafe.

I wasn't a fan of Once Upon A Treetop because there was way too much space for the kids to roam around and I felt like I couldn't even talk to my friends because we were all so busy chasing the kids. There are many places where you wouldn't be able to see your kid if they walked away for a minute.

I did a playdate with some friends at Sunrise Mall. They have a little indoor playground. Also Happy Places in Coram. They have open play on the weekends, you just have to call for times.

I wouldn't recommend Le Play Cafe for that age. When we went many of the parents were not watching their kids and one of them even hit my DS, took toys away from him, etc. No one bothered to say anything.
I know gymboree you need a membership, but they always have specials going on. We have a winter flex pass, and go on the weekends and when I'm off from work (I'm a FTWM as well). It's definitely worth the money if you go once or twice a week. My DS is 14 months and loves it.

I actually took DS to gymboree and loved it too! But the other Mom's don't have the membership so not trying to push them to get it and go there with us. I might suggest Broadway Mall. I used to go to Baby pictures there when I was on maternity leave
