How to make rice in advance for a party

Doing sweet & sour meatballs, and want to make rice to go alongside. How should I make the rice and keep it hot? I can even do it that morning, but it will still have to sit for a few hours before serving. Church is at 1pm so need to make it around 11-12, party at 2pm, planning to eat around 3pm.

If there is no meat in it, I would make it in the morning and let it sit on the counter. Its winter so it should be fine for few hours. Just reheat before serving.

There are a lot if recipes/instructions online about pre cooking rice, freezing it, and then reheating in microwave.

Also, I've made rice in the oven before and that may be a good thing to do for a party, if you want to make it fresh. Totally hands off, unlike the stovetop method!

Do you have a rice cooker?

No, I don't have a rice cooker. I guess either of the methods mentioned above would work.

Set on the counter wrapped in a big towel or two.
Should keep warm enough that it does not have to be reheated.

Cook it as you normally would then reheat it later. Meat or no meat food should not be kept out on the counter for more then two hours unless you maintain a safe serving temperature. Bacteria can grow in carbohydrates as well as meat.
