Anatomy Scan Prep?

Hi Ladies, I am 21 weeks and finally going for my anatomy scan tomorrow morning. I was wondering if there was anything I need to do to prep? My doctor didn't tell me anything. At my NT scan 8 weeks ago the baby was sleeping and not moving at all so it wasn't as much fun seeing him/her. I want him to be as active as possible so they can get all the shots and tell us the gender. I have heard of drinking ice water before (how long before?) and also heard to drink orange juice before. Any luck with either of those or any other recommendations? Thanks!

I don't think I did anything except go in with a full-ish bladder. However, my kid tends to be active no matter what lol.

FYI - if the baby is too active they won't be able to get all the measurements they need. I would not drink OJ before it

There is nothing you have to do to prep. I would not worry about the baby not moving too much- my daughter was moving a lot and the tech had a tough time getting all the measurements she needed.

All I was told was that once I got to the office I couldn't use the restroom. Good luck, its so exciting!

drink oj! helps the baby get a little pep-its fun to see it move around. The tech should be able to get all the measurements despite it moving around

I was told to drink 16 oz of water 1 hour before and not to use the restroom at all.

Forgot to mention - I had to come back to finish the anatomy scan b/c while DD was active, she wasn't moving into the position they needed to measure her spine and a few other parts.

Thanks for the advice girls, everything went great. All looks good, they got all the measurements they needed and we found out we are having a boy!!! Revealing the gender to family tonight, we are sooooo excited!!
