High Lipase in BM? (long)
I have milk was that was pumped on Wednesday then refrigerated. I prepped bottles late last night so it was in the fridge maybe 36 hours. Total random that I spilled some milk and I realized it smelled sour. I tasted it, and it tasted bad (yuck). I then tasted fresh milk and it tasted sweet not sour.
I couldn't believe the milk went bad that quick since I usually always refrigerate for a day and then use it, so I googled it and found out about high lipase. I decided to test it before throwing all the milk out and gave my daughter one of these sour bottles. She drank it all without hesitation and didnt get sick or spit up or anything so I'm pretty sure its high lipase and she's been used to it for the past 3 months. I also give her frozen milk and I'm sure the milk is sour here too.
I know you can scald the milk to prevent the sourness, but if she's drinking it as is should I just leave it be? Scalding it will lose some of the vitamins and things right?
Anyone have experience with this?

High Lipase in BM? (long)
I thought I had high lipase I honestly can't remember at the time why though (horrible mommy brain). I thought about scalding the milk before freezing it; but everyone I asked just told me if he was drinking it not to because it's a PITA and how it looses the nutrients.

Only scald it if she starts refusing to drink it.

I think I had this issue. I only BF my 2nd child fresh milk. I lost tons of pumped milk with my 1st!

Yep, same deal. It smells off after only a couple days in the fridge and anything I thaw smells almost plasticky. He takes it no issue so I just ignore it.

You only need to scald it if LO won't drink it otherwise. There's nothing wrong with it if he'll take it!

I had that issue. DD had no problem with the taste of the milk even though it had a metallic taste. I wouldn't scald it if your LO is okay with it.
