What can I put on a fresh scar to minimize it?
DD cut herself right between her eyebrows recently and she has a faint pink scar right now. I really want it to go away I started using Mederma but not sure if it's doing anything. Anything else I can put on it to minimize it?

What can I put on a fresh scar to minimize it?
Make sure she stays out if the sun, and put high SPF on it come summer. That's really the best thing for it. Time and no sun.

Mederma works but you must be consistent with it using it for at least six months.

My dd has the worst redness around her mouth from chapped lips but above and below lips. I tried everything. The dr said aquaphor and I swear in 1 day it's incredibly better. I agree with the mederma as well for it to ultimately heal. Try using both.

Scarguard. And definitely no sun exposure, always apply sunscreen.

I was once told by a plastic surgeon that it isn't so much what you are putting on it but the actual massaging of the area that helps the scar. They recommend lotion or creams because it prompts people to massage the area.
I personally prefer Vitamin E right from the capsule.

mederma scar cream and vitamin E oil. Massage. rub 2-3 times a day with it!! it works if you are consistent. Unfortunately I am not but when I was, it worked.

Massage it going in one fluid steady direction without pushing down too hard or going off of it. You can do this with pure vitamin E or pure argon oil ( not the one used for cooking). If no changes within 2-3 weeks you can apply a silicon patch for 8 hours working up to 12 hours daily
