PCOS
I'm not currently TTC, so I did't feel like this could go on that board.
I just wondering what are some ways the PCOS ladies here deal with it? I'm not yet married or TTC, and I feel like there isn't much out there for that. I was diagnosed about 10 years ago, but I guess I never thought about it much. Now that I am getting older and would like to one day have children, it's a reality.
I am trying to change my diet & plan on talking to my doctor about it more when I go see her soon.

Re: PCOS
I know someone who has it and I remember her talking about an online message board for the topic that she found very supportive and helpful.

PCOS
As for help i got a book about pcos and it provides an amazing diet to follow. Since starting a year ago I have had my period between 28-35 days religiously and I think a lot of it was controlling my blood sugar and diet

PCOS
a good friend has PCOS and basically got rid of all of the issues PCOS caused (no period, skin rashes, bloating..) by consulting Dr. Christine Gizoni who had her eliminate certain foods (dairy, gluten, corn, tomatoes.. )

Re: PCOS
I was put on clomid and got pregnant quickly after taking it. I took it for two months and became pregnant, but had a miscarriage. The second time I took it I got pregnant the first try and I now have five year old twin daughters.
I would really love to read that book another poster mentioned. Do you know the name?

Re: PCOS
I was diagnosed with it when I was 20-21. I went to see a endocrinologist for it (per recommendations from my gyno) who did a bunch of bloodwork, etc., and ended up putting me on Metformin. I've been on it for years. It definitely has helped with the main symptoms I had with PCOS - mainly being the lack of periods for a few months at a time. It also helped stabilize my weight.
When I started taking the metformin, it helped a lot to watch what I was eating (the medicine I've read makes a lot of people have stomach pain, etc.) and try to get in more exercise. Over time, it begins to stabalize which is super helpful.
Once we were TTC and were unsuccessful after almost 2 years, I went to a reproductive endocrinologist and took Clomid which led to my pregnancy.
I also used soul cysters forum and it was SO helpful in the beginning - I def recommend.
Feel free to reach out with any questions at all!

Re: PCOS
I have pcos as well as other endocrine crap. besides it affecting your fertility for many, its also very important to manage it bc it can lead to other health issues due to insulin resistance etc. I take metformin as well and probably will for life
