My emergency c-section story....plus an important question!
So as some of you know from my last post here, I was admitted to the hospital last Monday for high blood pressure, which was a part of my severe pre-eclampsia diagnosis. Although I was stabilized for a short while, the pressure creeped on back and couldn't be controlled anymore, so I had an emergency c-section on Saturday. All went well, thank goodness, and I am now the new mom to a beautiful baby girl, who is a tiny 2lbs 14 ounces 31 week preemie!
My important question now concerns me: a nurse advised me to get a really good support bra as my milk will soon come in, and I will not be able to breastfeed, and this will be painful. Could any of you ladies recommend such a bra quickly, that I could send out DH to get? Thanks so much.

Congratulations on your baby girl and glad to hear everyone is good.
I dont have a rec on a bra but if he goes to destination maternity, they could help. They also have nursing tank tops with the shelf bra that worked well for me. But i imagine it depends on your size.

I got a bunch of them at Target. 2 soft cotton that stretch and then one for support that it's a bit thicker.

Congrats!
Wear a really tight fitting sports bra- 24/7! Sounds weird, but cabbage leaves in your bra will help dry you up too. Don't let water hit your chest in the shower- face the other way. Icing with bags of frozen veggies help. Motrin too.

My emergency c-section story....plus an important question!
I just went to target and got a sports bra. My milk didn't come in until I was out of the hospital. Maybe 4 days after birth

Yes all of this. Tight sports bra 24/7. Got a 3 pack of them at Target. Frozen cabbage leaves and motrin for the pain. Mine was cleared up in a few days.

CONGRATS!!!!!
I would also suggest a sports bra. It DEF helped me. Are you going to pump? I know your can't BF because it burns lbs and the baby needs to gain but my friend pumped and gave her LO her liquid gold. But DEF a tight sports bra!

Congrats! I had my son at 30w4d and he was 2lbs 15oz. He is now a very active 2 year old!! FM me with any questions! I know how stressful it all is.
I don't have a bra recommendation.
No pressure, but just because You can't breastfeed, you can still pump. I wasn't sure if by your original post you had planned on breastfeeding. BM is especially great for preemies because of their weakened immune system and immature digestive system.
Best of luck, and congrats again!

Re: My emergency c-section story....plus an important question!
Congratulations! I had my DS at 30w6d. He was 2lbs 15oz. He is completely fine and developing normally. Any questions, please FM. I know what you are going through. I had pre-eclampsia as well.
I used sports bras from Target as well. I did pump though for the two months DS was in the NICU. When I returned to work I stopped pumping and switched DS to formula. I would pump a little to relieve the pressure and pain. I also used the cabbage leaves which helped. Good luck!

Re: My emergency c-section story....plus an important question!
Congrats! I had DD at 34 weeks via emergency c due to preeclampsia as well. She was in the NICU for 39 days and is now doing AWESOME! I use the Medela nursing bras. As others said, are you not BF'ing because she's preemie or because you don't want to? If you want to, definitely pump and bring the milk to the hospital. My DD was strictly fed breastmilk that I pumped when I wasn't at the hospital and nursed when I was there visiting.
