You know whats really sick - I booked Sandals initially because my co worker said "oh you gotta go,its the best all inclusive resort on St Lucia!". I then went on LIW and read everyone else's reviews who said wonderful things.
I get there and BOOM - from day 1 I was crying. I was so upset about the service, the lack of a DECENT slice of pizza, the lack of room service options and the fact that the ONLY people who really wrote great reviews on LIW were morons who actually forked over more than $ 6 or $8K for BUTLER service rooms, or rooms that were higher priced. Considering DH and I both paid for this trip, I was very angry and disappointed. For the 6K we paid,we could have had a nice 7 day cruise with a Suite!
The majority of opinions on LIW re: vacations and honeymoons are not reliable. If you consider the fact that the majority of LIW brides are women in their early to late 20s who have no experience with REAL all inclusive resorts or GREAT vacations. Most of them will tell you, "Sandals was awesome!" because they have no frame of reference.
DH and I have taken great vacations before - with better service, better food and better entertainment for half the price. We are also much older (30s-40s) so we dont really care about the "drink till you pass out" aspect of honeymoons. I didnt start to enjoy my HM until day 4 or 5 and that was because we were a day closer to Departure!
My co worker even admitted to me after I got back from Sandals that St. Lucia was her first all inclusive resort experience, so she had nothing to compare her experience to! So LIW isnt the place to complain - lots of those girls arent very vacation savy, unfortunately. 
We went to Sandals St. Lucia (Grande) and did NOT have a concierge or butler room. We had an amazing time and do not have one complaint about it - I would go back there in a heartbeat. And we have traveled to other resorts before and have done travel in Europe as well - so trust me, I have a level of comparison.
There's no need to be bitter and say things against others just because you couldn't have a good time on your honeymoon. Probably basing your whole honeymoon on just one source might not have been the best decision it looks like.

My DH surprised me with a surprise HM to Sandals La Toc. It was amazing!! I could not have asked for a better HM and I have traveled to the carribean a bunch of time and this was by far the most amazing trip I have ever had. I can't wait to go back!

We just got back from our SECOND trip to Sandals La Toc in St.Lucia. I've read the bad reviews here and on Trip Advisor and I have to say I feel like these people must have been at a different resort!
Everything was pretty much exactly like the pictures in the brochures (including the Millionarie's Suite, which I was lucky enough to tour...and I specially asked to see basic rooms and they were also totally gorgeous, comfortable, and larger and more well-appointed than i thought, and we're talking the lowest level rooms). The food was for the most part amazing, better than I remembered. When we sat with the resort manager our feedback to him was that NO ONE had ever said no to us the entire time we were at the resort both times. Every request was enthusiastically fulfilled.
Not only would I recommend it, but I would go back a third time!

We just got married on 12/1 and have to wait until my March break for our HM! Looking forward to 10 days in Anguilla! I'm so excited, I can't wait

We waited 6months after the wedding for a few reasons.
1. We got married in February, I graduated graduate schoool in May, I couldn't take time off.
2. $$
3. It was winter and we wanted to go to Europe in the summer.
Our honeymoon was 6 months later, we went to spain, turkey, monaco, greece, and italy for a month.

We went to Cancun the day after our wedding and then a month and half later we did part 2 to London and Paris

Honeymoon
We went to Now Larimar in Punta Cana. Our flight left at 8.20 the morning after our wedding. Yes, we were dreadfully hungover (DH may or may not have been still drunk) at the airport but it was sooooooooooo worth it.

We left 2 days after our wedding for Sandals St. Lucia. It was nice to have time to unwind, enjoy our family and pack!

We waited 3 1/2 months to take our honeymoon. We had spent a lot of money on the wedding and we wanted to make sure we were in good financial standing before we booked it. We thought about doing a mini-moon, but we decided we;d rather wait the extra few months and do the trip that we REALLY wanted to take. It was well worth the wait!
