The most idiotic reason to get a kitten....
EBF: Question. Does anyone know of anyone who has kittens for free. I'm asking for a friend. Thank you in advance. Ereena
Me: tell your friend to wait another month or two...there will be plenty!
EBF: I really need one now for my nephew. He wants to ask his girl to prom with the kitten. He's too cute. I'm trying to help
ME: ? the reason he wants a living thing, that will require care for the next two decades, is only to ask his gf to the prom? Tell him to buy her flowers....

Re: The most idiotic reason to get a kitten....
There was a recent study done looking at the rehome rates of people who received pets as gifts. The rates were no different than that of people who adopted for themselves.
