switching from bottle to cup

Help! How do you do this? DD won't take more than an ounce from any sippy cup. I don't want to keep offering the bottle but she needs milk. Should I just push it and she'll adjust or should I offer the bottle to ensure she drinks enough? Any tips? SHe's not a huge fan of milk which is not helping. Any others dealing with kids not liking milk? What did you do?

Re: switching from bottle to cup

I have tried about 5 different cups with DD. Finally she took to one that is pretty similar to a bottle bc it has a soft tip. After She started to use it we never looked back to a bottle. I transitioned her at 13 months.

Below is the link to the cup. Hope this helps!

switching from bottle to cup

How old is she? Don't worry, she isn't going to go to school drinking milk from a bottle when she's 5. The important thing is for her to drink her milk. My ds hated to drink milk from any cup but would drink anything else from the cup. He continued to drink milk from his bottle till about 19 months or maybe a little older. He loves this munchkin one http://www.diapers.com/p/munchkin-sippy-cup-2-pk-boy-998637?site=CA&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_D&utm_term=MC-635&utm_campaign=GooglePLA&CAWELAID=500001800000451907&utm_content=pla&ca_sku=MC-635&ca_gpa=pla&ca_kw={keyword}

He LOVES his milk (maybe bc he continued to drink it from his bottle till he was old enough to realize that he loves it! One night when he was asking for his milk, I simply told him I don't have a bottle anymore and he just took it from the cup.

I would give a bottle of milk in the morning and night and give all water/juice from the sippy cup during solid foods just so that she could get used to the cup. My dd is now almost 6 months and I started giving her the sippy full of water during her feedings, she is having some problems with it but loves it.

I suggest you don't push it bc I know mothers who have and their children stopped drinking milk. Depending on age...maybe you could put a drop chocolate syrup in the milk when you give it to her in the sippy cup, might convince her. lol

DD hated milk and would not drink it all, whether from a bottle or cup. We even tried adding syrups. We give her extra dairy throughout the day. Doctor said as long as it's 3-4 servings daily, it's fine if it's not milk.

Have you tried a straw cup? DS went from bottle to straw sippy. He couldn't quite get the other kind but he took to the straw right away.

Exactly this!! The nuk is awesome! The first day I tried it she drank the whole thing, I never showed her another bottle. Within a week I started with the other million sippys I had, just so she didn't get stuck on just the nuk.

Thanks for your advice. What's so funny is this link didn't work yesterday. I bought a new cup today and not reading what the link says it just so happens to be the same one. You were right, she drank all of her milk from that today. Success!
