Separation Anxiety...
Does anyone have an issue with their dog having separation anxiety? I would love to be able to sign my baby boy up for doggy daycare so on the days my DH and I have long hours, he can play with other dogs all day but every time we leave him somewhere (groomer, vet, etc.) he freaks out. We got married in November and left him overnight at PetSmart and he made himself so anxious that he was throwing up and pooping blood. I am not sure if it is because they stuck him in his "room" by himself and wouldn't let him play with the other dogs because he looked like he has pit bull in him (ridiculous) or if he just has a really bad case of separation anxiety. I just don't want to bring him to daycare one day and him getting sick of it but how do I know if I don't try....

Re: Separation Anxiety...
My dog had separation anxiety and I have managed to cure her of most of it. It is curable. Yes daycare will help(i used it myself) because she /he will not be alone, but you will not getting rid of the underlying issue. Good luck I hope all goes well.

They say thundershirts help but you have to measure exact so it's not too tight that it's uncomfortable but it has to be a little snug. They have good reviews.
Worst case if you MUST board again but I hope you won't have to, benzos from the vet (anti-anxiety meds such as : Xanax, Ativan, Valium and klonopin).
