Re: Storm Doors- yay or nay?

yes! I love having the front door open with light coming in. My kids love to look out and there is nothing worse than opening your front door after a huge snow (with drifts) and it all falling inwards
What's even worse, is having 3' or more of snow, and not being able to get out of the house, since the storm door won't move!

I couldn't live without it. We love leaving our door open and letter the sun/breeze in!

Re: Storm Doors- yay or nay?
I appreciate all the input. I looked around my neighborhood and most people have them.
The idea of being able to keep the door open in the nice weather is appealing, but I seldom do it- it seems like we always have people going door to door selling meat and religion. I just prefer to leave the door closed especially since I work from home and am alone most of the day. For now I think we'll just get the main door and see how we do in the winter with regards to insulation.

Re: Storm Doors- yay or nay?
Don't care for storm doors. Don't like the look. Don't care for the functionality. My house without a storm door looks so much cleaner. I have plenty of windows in the front that i can open. I also have a rear slider that I can open that has a screen.

I have both; the storm door is all glass. I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but in addition to letting the light in, I like it for security. For instance, if the bell rings, I can open the door to see who it is before unlocking the storm door. I say yay to the storm door.
Same here. I like being able to stand behind the regular door, open it and let my dog "see" who it is before I open the door fully. It really does make me feel safer because my dog certainly intimidates some of the solicitors who come.
