yes. how old is your child?

He is going to be 17 months next month. He had a spurt of maybe two solid months where he slept through most nights. Now he is back to not. We have literally tried it all and I just don't know what to do. I think he just may not sleep through end of story. Chat Icon Feeling pretty hopeless

my 1st didn't STTN until 15 months. It was a LONG 15 months, as you are feeling yourself right now i'm sure.

For him, the key was consistency and schedule. My inlaws watched him up until that point and they didn't believe in naps, they didn't stick to our schedule and it was a nightmare. He'd be up 3-5 times at night. At 15 months we started sending him to a sitter instead and just like that... sttn!!!! She had a very strict routine/schedule and that's what he needed.

So of course- how is his schedule and nap routine?

He is in a routine. Meals, naptime, bedtime you name it, he has it.

He didn't sleep again last night. I am beyond tired and feeling so defeated. He has slept 2 out of the past 7 nights.

I was that kid ! I didn't sleep through the night until 3. I am not a particularly good sleeper now either. Everyone has different genetics.

my dd is 4 and still gets up mulitple times and is up for the day at 5:00am-6:00am. We are having her tested soon, since she is so restless at night. She has never slept through the night except for when she is sick.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Can I ask tested for what?

My DS is 7, and my ped just stresses consistency and routine for him to help him sleep.

Oh yes. Going in and not going in, both methods.

DD doesn't sleep through the night and she's 7. She never did. She never napped either. Now that she's older, it's better because she knows that she has to stay in her room and "rest" even if she wakes up, but I still hear her. She is not tired the next day and isn't cranky so there is really nothing much to do about it. Some kids (and adults) just don't sleep for long periods. Needless to say I haven't slept in 7 years either and I'm tired lol.

My dd didn't start consistently STTN until 5. She would wake a few nights a week, try to get in my bed, etc. now she only wakes if she's sick.
