tubal ligation - recovery, side effects...
I was supposed to get my tubes tied 4+ years ago when my DD was born via c-section. However, since she came a day early, I had to deliver at Good Sam where my OB was that day. They obviously do not allow them there.
So...I'm almost at the point where I am just thinking to get tubes tied. I'm just concerned about recovery time, down time (I have a 4 and 5 year old). I know about the Essure alternative, but the horror stores online are freaking me out.
DH will NOT have a V.....I would CONSIDER the pill, but I'm afraid I'm going to gain a ton of weight on it. I'm in good shape, but I freak out at even a 5 lb weight gain. I also should add I'm 42 and definitely do not want more children.

Re: tubal ligation - recovery, side effects...
I was scheduled to have mine done two years ago but Sandy hit. I have boys 10.5 months apart & at that time were 3 & 2.5. I was told no lifting for about a week but otherwise i would be fine
I never had it so I can't say for sure but do plan on getting it in the near future

Thanks - that does not sound so bad. I guess I need to speak to OB again.

I think the recovery is fairly easy. I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy in dec, and while it was painful I was back to work in 2 weeks.
And a tubal might even be better. I had a tubal, but it was done after section at south side.

That's what I WISH could've been done - with my c-section with last child!!

Re: tubal ligation - recovery, side effects...
I had a tubal many years ago. I had no side effects. I had to take it easy for about a week, but realistically that was tough because I had 3 small children at the time. It worked out really well for me.
