10 yr old and pimples
need some advise. DD just turned 10 in March and like the next day starting breaking out on her forehead, We use Sea Breeze and Clearasil - per her ped DR. It helps but very little. Any suggestions, good home remedies, etc we can try. She is washing every night with mild soap, does not ear her bangs down anymore and is being careful about touching her forehead
TIA

Would your doctor let her use Retin-A? I started breaking out at that age and that's what I used. That was also over 20 years ago but it helped. There was a lot I tried my whole life but I had acne through my adult years. Also consider Proactive. That helped a lot as well.

Re: 10 yr old and pimples
Over washing can cause more pimples because your skin is over compensating for the oils you just washed off.
I would have her wash with cetaphil, then use witch hazel as an astringent and then go back over with tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is a natural anti-bacterial and antiseptic. I would also have her use a light oil free moisturizer or even a very small amount of coconut oil but only at night

I like going the more natural route like jerseymamaof3 is recommending. However, instead of cetaphil, I would use a plain liquid glycerine soap like neutrogena's.

I always used African black soap. Have to keep it from standing in water because it will melt quickly, but it always worked great for me. Also agree with not washing too frequently or vigorously. Also, don't rub when drying... Always just blot dry.
Sorry she is dealing with this... Acne is no fun.

I would try altering her diet to see if that helps--eliminate all sugars and dairy.
Acne is usually a sign of something amiss inside the body. A good probiotic should also help. Good luck!
