Giving 16 month old water??
How much water do you let your 16 month old drink? Now that the weather is getting warmer I want to make sure she is hydrated but don't want to give her too much. She still refuses a sippy and take a toss so I'll usually have her sip it from a water bottle.

Giving 16 month old water??
I wouldn't worry about giving her too much at that age. I feel water is good for them. All my dd drank after one was water and milk and it was mostly water. At 3 all she still drinks is water all day long she maybe has a cup of milk a day but I doubt it's even that much.

Giving 16 month old water??
DS has water all day. He probably drinks about 3 sippy cups full a day, but has drank more. He puts it down when he doesn't want it anymore. Have you tried a water bottle with a flip up spout? My nephews have them and DS loves drinking out of them more than any cup we've tried!

Whatever is available. My dd drinks about 5-6 sippies a day I think. Its always available so she drinks when thirsty. Now that its warmer she loves ice cold water with ice cubes. We use the nuby flip top with straws she loves them.

My DD has water available to her in a sippy cup throughout the day. If she doesn't, she'll ask me for "wawa."

Unless your child isn't gaining weight properly or not getting a well-rounded diet, you shouldn't worry about too much water. We leave the sippy, filled with water, in DS's reach all day so he can drink whenever he's thirsty.

My 14 month drinks one straw cup of milk and two of water a day. My ds is pretty thin, so sometimes I give juice too. He loves water, though.
My dd did the same!

Re: Giving 16 month old water??
I just give them as much as they want. If they are asking for water they are thirsty.

Giving 16 month old water??
As much as she wants. And I try to offer it to her often throughout the day even if she's not asking for it, especially on hot days or if she's been running around a lot.

Re: Giving 16 month old water??
Both my kids are huuuuuge water drinkers. I never limited them or measured it out. I just filled up their sippy cups as they wanted more throughout the day.

We keep a sippy cup filled with filtered water from the fridge around all day for DS (15 months ) to sip on and give to him with meals also.

Same here! I thought water was a much better alternative to juice and other drinks.
