How much food to order

We are having about 30 people over for a birthday party. We were thinking of ordering hero and some trays of food. This is our first time throwing a party so I'm not sure how much to order.

Any ideas? It will be mostly adults.

the catering place/ rest. you will order form can tell you how many people each tray feeds..

you also know your friends more than we do lol lots of big eaters? order more, kwim?

i usually have about 20-25 ppl over and i go to fairway and get 5 trays of food and its waaaaay more than enough. get trays of food that arent "pieces" for example.. eggplant rollatini vs eggplant parm.

rollatini they will give you 8-10 pieces, but a tray of eggplant parm, you can pre cut , or your guests will be cutting a small piece as they help themselves and you will get about 20 pieces per tray

sausage n peppers is another good tray because each person puts like 4-5 pieces of meat on their plate so that tray can feed 20 people.

and not everyone will eat everything

a hero and 3 trays of food and some apps, chips are plenty.
