Family photos - what to wear?
We have a photographer coming to do a family shoot this weekend. It's me, Dh, 16month old dd and 1 month old Ds
Any idea on colors to wear (or to avoid)? To match or not to match? When I look online I see a lot of white shirts with jeans but I'm not sure I want us to be in white

Re: Family photos - what to wear?
Don't do white shirts and jeans!! Its been done and overdone 53486354 times over.
Coordinate, don't match. Choose a print dress for DD or dress or top for you and pull colors from there. Not a super busy print though. DH usually wears khakis or jeans and a solid button up. Last time he did a linen button up with the sleeves rolled up.
Also look on Pinterest for what to wear guides for inspiration.

I like to sort of match without totally matching. I also have two boys so they wore different shades of blue (collared shirt) with matching plaid shorts that matched their shirts, but not each other. I wore a white sundress with different blue flowers on the dress. Boys wore matching tan boat shoes. Looked cute together.

Re: Family photos - what to wear?
We just did one but ours was outdoors! DS worse khaki shorts and a blue button down, I wore a blue/green/white sundress, DS (who's 2) wore a diff color blue collared shirt with shorts, and DD (6 months) wore a white dress. Since it was outdoors, I wish we did more of an orange or yellow theme so we "popped," more. But we all coordinated - not in the same exact colors but a mix of blues whites which was a nice cohesive mix without being cheesy I think

I agree with the other posters- match but not too much. Coordinate is a good word. Don't wear anything too busy or with crazy patterns. Solids photograph the best.

Re: Family photos - what to wear?
I chose to pick out an outfit for DD and then did something complimentary but more understated for DH and I bc I want DD to be the star of the show. So, DD will wear a yellow, sky blue, and navy check dress and I will wear a white dress with yellow cardigan. DH will wear navy shorts with a white shirt. I prefer something complimentary than the everyone wears tan pants and blue shirt look.

Re: Family photos - what to wear?
Coordinate with each other. My DD first bday we did family photos. She wore a off white & blue dress sundress. DS wore light blue polo with khaki shorts, I wore off white sundress and DH wore Jeans w/blue and yellow button shirt. We all blended really well. I don't like to do a lot of patterns when doing family photo shoots.
Have fun!
