Potty training

DD will be 3 in September and is still in diapers. She is so stubborn and refuses to use a potty chair, but besides that I have a problem. She has a lot of GI problems and I don't know what to do with that... She is on 3 caps of miralax a day, so its been difficult. Also (TMI) she has had a blockage of stool in the past, so she often leaks poop out around the blockage... What do you think is the best way to potty train her with this?? Thank you!! She starts school in September, so I wanted her to be potty trained by then.

Re: Potty training

I dont have any advice. My first son was trained before he was 3 however my second is 3y2m and not trained. And I would say half his friends are not trained.
So dont stress.
Maybe address your concerns regarding the blockage with your ped. They might have some advice.
As far as getting her to go, I just told DS he had no choice. He had to sit on hte potty. Now he sits 5-6x a day and pees (no #2 yet) but unless I make him go he wont tell me he has to go,,,,

Good Luck.

Re: Potty training

My DD just trained and she will be 4 in September. She was very stubborn. Refused to sit......wouldnt even take bribes. One day, i saw she was holding it in. I took her, she sat on the potty, peed.......and that was that. From then on, underwear, no accidents. I agree, they will go when they are ready.

My twin boys will be 3 in October & dont want to train yet. We picked a nursery school where no potty training required.
