Had my follow up today
I had my follow up with Dr. Flisser today. I’m on day 12 and my follicle measured 24. I have to decide if I want to try this month on my own or give iui one last shot. We discussed my husband’s sperm and although his count was 21 million his morphology is at 2% where it should be around 4%. Motility was low as well. I mentioned adding injectables and he said if I wanted to we could but that doesn’t help the male factor, which is what needs to improve. He feels, and I tend to agree, that IVF ICSI is our next step.
If I get my period, let’s hope I don’t, next month I’ll need another water sono to check the possible polyps he saw on the last water sono, then depending on his findings I most likely will have a hysteroscopy. Then the following month we will start our first IVF cycle.

True that injectables doesn't help MFI, but it does give the sperm more targets.

Had my follow up today
I'm dealing with male factor infertility, also. After 4 failed IUI's (2 natural/unmedicated and 2 on clomid), we are currently starting our first IVF ICSI -- just had my water sono today and am currently on BC pills. I was given the option to do another IUI with injectables, but DH, our RE, and I all agreed that the odds are just so much better for MFI with IVF, especially ICSI. Plus I thought that if I'm going to be injecting myself multiple times nightly for an IUI, that I would rather just go through it with IVF. Not sure what is going on with you in term of insurance -- I know some people must have a certain number of IUI's before they will authorize/approve IVF. If this isn't the case, I would personally move on to IVF. Good luck!

My husband saw a urologist and all tests came back normal. Could be age and stress causing the motility/morph issues.

Did this result in a BFP for you?

Thank you for this! I'm torn on what to do. This is our last covered IUI. Debating if i should wait until next month to do it with injectables or like you said, just go for the IVF since there's a greater chance for a pregnancy.

With IUI it's just 1 injection per day. With IVF it's multiple injections per day.

Yes it did, three times once I started Gonal. 2 miscarriages, and 1 current pregnancy.
I had 4 prior bfn with clomid/iui and 3 bfn with just clomid.
ETA: Dh had poor morphology.

Good to know! Maybe I'll sit this month out and do injectables next month before ivf. So sorry for your losses. Hope you're feeling good and enjoying this pregnancy!!

Although IVF was not as difficult as I thought, I would really only do it as a last resort. You need to go under and I always had an awful recovery from the ER.

Thank you, I am :) Doing injectables was the best thing to happen for me. And using PIO instead of progesterone suppositories.
