Bakyard BBQ for 1st birthday
I am having a 1st birthday party for my DD in August in our backyard. The theme is "sunshine" since we always sing You Are My Sunshine to her. Any ideas for favors for a 1st birthday with that theme? I would be hesitant about edible favors b/c of the heat. What would you recommend for entertaining the kids (age 1-8) We are having about 25 kids there. I was thinking beachballs, hula hoops, bubbles... Thanks.

If you have a Kohls card, there are a few codes floating around and you can get a beach towel for under $5 each.

Re: Bakyard BBQ for 1st birthday
I think a variety of balls and bubbles would be enough entertainment for the little ones. Balloons (if they weren't already included in your decorations) become toys. If this was my party, I would put out a water table with some water toys that they could all gather around. If you have any ride on toys or cars/trucks I would bring them to the back. For favors, I like things related to the theme and usually only give to them kids (well I still prefer edible favors and I give those to adults). So I would also consider beach towels, or customized sand pails. You could do sugar cookie suns. That wouldn't melt and it would look super cute.

Re: Bakyard BBQ for 1st birthday
We had a backyard BBQ for DS's 1st birthday. Our favors were cookie favors. It was more adults than kids, but we did have simple toys/games, etc. for the kids who did come.

I would probably do cookie favors.
We had the same type if party for DS 1st. We got a water slide from a bounce house company and it was a tremendous hit.
