Those of you who use tee tree oil to prevent lice?
Do you put it inside their bottle of wash? Do you put a drop in their hair when you wash it? The kids will be starting school in September and I want to do everything possible to prevent lice! TIA!

Re: Those of you who use tee tree oil to prevent lice?
I used a lice spray that I got from target...I believe it was from fairy lice mother. I sprayed their hair, backpacks and jacket before they walked out the door. I also washed their hair using suave rosemary and something conditioner. I have boys, but thankfully they never got it this year.
I also requested that jacket be put right into their backpacks as they got Into school.

I put the oil in their shampoo. I also use a tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner once a week (it's a great clarifying shampoo) and I spray them with an all natural spray. I wash coats once a week, and dry hats, scarves, backpacks, etc. once a week on the sanitize cycle. We had lice once and it was such a pain!

Thanks Ladies! So ydo you put a few drops in their entire shampoo bottle? I still use aveeno baby wash and shampoo in 1. Would i just put a few drops in that? And you also use a separate tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner once a week? This makes me so nervous about school. The thought of it freaks me out.

I just buy te Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo from Trader Joes.
If a case of lice is going around, I'll use the expensive Lady Bug Lice Prevention Shampoo and Conditioner.

I had it this past winter. I learned A LOT from going to my treatments at the Fairylice Mothers. Best $400 I have ever spent. Just put a few drops of the tea tree oil in the shampoo bottle. I also have tea tree and mint in a spray bottle and I spray that in my hair and neckline after I shower. In the winter I spray it on my coat and work bag. Just using it daily (shampoo and/or spray) will is a big preventative.

I use their shampoo and conditioner for myself and my son during the school year daily. Also started using their body wash and face wash. Love the line! It's cheap too!
