Progesterone level at 8dpiui

Hey ladies! Had my progesterone level checked today at 8 dpiui and it was an unmedicated cycle. My progesterone was 8.5 and they say they like to see over 15 so I have to start progesterone suppositories tomorrow morning. Any feedback, stories, am I out or not necessarily? Thanks in advance!

I was put on progesterone as well.. no side effects, just annoyingly messy. I wouldn't think you are out yet. Best of luck!!

I was put on Endometrin suppositories for all 4 of my IUI cycles, so for me its the norm. I didn't have any side effects, but as the previous poster said, they are annoyingly messy. I suggest buying some panty liners and/or thin maxi pads to wear so you don't ruin your undies -- when they melt they come out as a thick, white paste.

Thanks ladies for the responses! I kinda figure it'll be like using yeast infection meds which is so gross! I have panty liners but I'm going to Puerto Rico Friday! What should I do when I go in the pool/ocean?! Oh this is gonna be fun in a bathing suit! Lol

I was on a generic suppository last time and am on Endometrin this time.

The generics were Soooo gross. They were slippery and if I didn't lie down for 10 minutes after I put one in, it would literally fall out into my underwear. And they were in some kind of casing where the medicine would melt out and the casing would slip out sometime later in the day. Eeew.

Endometrin is wonderful in comparison. I put it in and immediately forget it's there. There's some discharge but nothing too messy.

You can definitely go swimming with them in - the medicine melts in about 20 minutes. But if you have those yucky generics you might want to wait an hour so that the casing doesn't slip out!

Just got the meds. It's called crinone progesterone gel. I'll have to see how it is the next few days before I leave lol. Hopefully it won't be too bad but hopefully it'll help if I do get pregnant this cycle!

Are you allowed to swim? I was told no swimming. I also did an unmedicated cycle. I've been on crinone all along though. It's gross, but at least it's not shots.

I never had much leakage with crinone, I just did it right before bed.

Thanks for the responses! Did my first dose this morning and didn't have much leakage at all! Score!! My doctor said swimming is fine as long as I wait 1/2 hour- 1 hour after using the progesterone!

Suppositories are annoying due to the leakage,but it's well worth it.
