not sure if anyone will post here and I'm expecting people do it all the time. if the carseat is in good condition do you use it after it expires.

Re: expired car seats
I did not. And I took a lot of heat from some family for throwing away a "perfectly good" carseat.
To each his own, but I would not.

I wouldn't ... I'd rather just spend $100 and buy a brand new carseat and be sure that my DC was safe. It's just not worth the risk.

I personally would not use it in my main car. But we do have a recently expired one in dh's car. So far he has never used it but in case of an emergency that he needs to take dd out in his car we felt it was fine

No. Plastics deteriorate due to the temperature extremes in the vehicle. The harnesses become dry and brittle as well. They can fail in the event of an accident. Not worth it.

Re: expired car seats
I never would. To me, it's not worth the safety risk over saving a few hundred dollars.

Honestly, if I had like a couple months left that I needed to use it, I would. It doesn't go bad the minute the date comes like some magic number. But I would never set out to use or buy an expired seat. I'm just saying if it expired this month and in October or something I was switching to the next seat type etc. I would leave it.

No. I don't think it's worth the risk IMO.

No, it is not worth the risk of injury for such a small investment.
