Back to the grind!
Who else is planning to spend their day off just prepping everything for school this week?

Re: Back to the grind!
I've done school supply shopping and the girls are wearing summer clothes this week and next so no back to school clothes shopping for us.
What else is there to prep? I feel like I'm missing something! I'm sure there is more to do lol
Maybe I've gotten more laid back over the years. I just want to enjoy my last day of vaca today!!

Yeah, I was up early and I have his bag all packed and labeled.
He will be wearing shorts this week too.
I just feel like I have to get into the mindset because I'm not ready for the craziness to begin in the am.

Re: Back to the grind!
I packed the bags yesterday, finished up helping my DD decorate her pencil box today. I plan to go food shopping today for lunches (hoping the store is empty LOL) and we will hit the beach tomorrow if the weather is nice. We don't start until Wednesday. NOT looking forward to getting up at 6am!

Back to the grind!
I'm so not ready. I almost had a break down in Target. I had a long list of supplies and specific instructions - X items would go in a box that could be no larger than X, the rest of the X items would go in another box. The remaining items would go in a bag.
Glue couldn't be school glue, had to be glue all, pencils had to be pre-sharpened, etc. Snacks had to be peanut free, no water bottles unless its a sport top, etc, etc, etc.
X had to be labeled but not Y and Z, etc, etc....
There was a moment where my eyes filled with tears and I just wanted a hug. I wanted to just yell out to the other moms, "GOD THIS SUCKS, can we get a group hug??"
I'm not ashamed to say that. SUre, it's not brain science here...but it's overwhelming - thinking about homework and crazy hat days, school events to try to take time off of work for, dreading the morning rush...
just not looking forward to it. but that's more to do with me - my own life is hectic, my work hours are wonky...
but I will push through. no other option!

Re: Back to the grind!
Yeah, I'm so dreading the traffic in the AM.
I go from the SS Western Suffolk to the NS border of Queens.
It's been smooth sailing all summer....I don't think it will be THAT bad, but it won't be as good as it's been these last few months....
