AFLAC short term disability Q
Does anyone have/had this policy? Any idea how long it typically takes for the benefits to kick in?

AFLAC short term disability Q
I have this insurance as well so I would be interested in knowing that too. I think it depends on the type of plan you picked. For example, there are some that have a 7 or 14 day waiting period which I think means you have to be ou for that long before you start being eligible for payment. I also know that for pregnancy related leave you have to have been insured 10 months to be eligible.
I'm curious to see what happens when I'm out bc I was cheated by my last insurance. I was out at 7 m preg and had to wait 3 mos before I became eligible, something both my agent and their customer service were vague about when I took the policy out.
Nevertheless , I hear Aflac has the best maternity (short term disab) leave policy. Hth

AFLAC short term disability Q
I have a 14 day elimination period- that I know. Also I've been enrolled for almost 2yrs now so I'm definitely covered. I've been in touch with an AFLAC rep but I'm hoping once I submit my claim, it's fairly quick. . I'm just wondering how long it can take. The company can tell you one thing- but first hand experience is usually better. Hopefully someone has an answer for us!!

AFLAC short term disability Q
I have the AFLAC short term disability policy, which covers pregnancy for up to 8wks. I got it through an agent that came to my school. His office is in Nassau I believe.

I was put on bed rest at 18 weeks and collected for almost the whole remainder of my pregnancy. I collected from AFLAC I believe after a 7 day waiting period. Payments were very quick. The only time there was a delay was when I was delayed in getting updated paperwork in.

Thank you! I don't know how I'm going to get my paperwork to my school district. I think I'm going to have to have my husband drop them off or something. I'll give my papers to my OB in the hospital. Hopefully it's smooth sailing after that!

Sorry. I'm not on here that often...
I signed up thru work and pay directly out of my paycheck. But I did call their customer service in when i started bc I didn't know who my rep was and they gave me the name of an agent. I can get u the name of the agent for my employer or you can call them and get one closer to you. Their customer service is okay and wasn't too long of a wait.
