FAIL
After hearing raves about Briermere Farms Pies, I traveled 45 minutes because I really wanted to try their raspberry peach pie. Had my heart set on that one. They were packed, people were pushing and shoving, it was a terrible experience. It was like a mosh pit at a rock and roll concert except I wasn't prepared for it. There were two raspberry peach pies sitting in front of me when I start to order. I ask for the raspberry peach pie and as she's saying ok and walking over to it, another girl takes the two pies away. They tell me they have no more. Literally right in front of my face they are taken away from me. Like stealing candy from a baby. They were then forcing me to make a quick second decision (I didn't have a back up plan, well blackberry apple actually, but the anxiety made me forget!). I got peach and it was decent but nothing to rave about. I felt very sad.

Re: FAIL
I feel like that place is just SOOOO overrated and overpriced. To see it on a regular old weekend- not even near the holidays- you would think it's the second coming of Christ.
Then the pies are INSANELY overpriced. And to be honest, they are OK but nothing spectacular. Like to me, it's a step above a Mrs. Smith's Pie
I can get much better pies in a local bakery for a lot less money and a lot less aggravation.
I don't see the hype with that place AT ALL
(And I have a huge sweet tooth!)
To me, just like EVERYTHING else out there, it has turned into nothing more than a tourist trap.

Argh. That stinks. I had a completely opposite experience, but I went on a chilly March day. I've piggybacked on friends who say they're going...I just ask them to pick up a pie or jam for me. Try doing that, save the hassle!

I wouldn't say it's necessarily worth a special trip but if you're driving by it's tough to resist. The peach raspberry is very good, as is the blackberry apple! I'm not huge on pie at all but I've never had one I didn't like from there. My parents and IL's are both big fans and they always buy us a pie whenever they go. Much nicer than fighting the crowds on a busy weekend!

I wish I knew this before I went. ITA. And I would love to have people bring me pies from there but no one I know goes there.

I remember loving the pies when I was a kid. Recently my parents drove out there and asked me if I wanted them to bring me back a pie. After hearing it was 18 dollars I told them no.
Well my mom thought it was Opposite Day and bought me a pie anyway.
I ate that 18 dollar pie out of sheer principle. But stop and shop tastes better to me than briermeres now.

I agree. I think their pies are fine but nothing worth the hassle for. They are really overrated.

The chocolate cream and blueberry cream pies are awesome. I thought the raspberry pie was too sweet. So it depends.

So sorry I happen to think they're heaven on earth but it's awful that you were trampled while you were in there and had a bad experience.
