Re: Flu shot
I didn't with DD1 so I don't think I'm getting it either. I'm still on the fence though.

Flu shot
I will definitely get it, especially being due in December I'd like the baby and I to both be protected as much as possible. Last time I lucked out and got it done at a clinic that was set up in the OBs office. I'm hoping they'll do that again, otherwise I'll see when they recommend.

Flu shot
Got the flu shot 1st pregnancy at my 7 or 8 month appointment (December baby); got it last year as well; and will get it again this year since I'm expecting #2. My OB recommended it also about the immunity going towards the baby.

Re: Flu shot
I am getting both the flu shot and whooping cough vaccine. Not taking any chances with a child in school and giving birth in January.

I got the whooping couch vaccine after DD was born. Is this something that has to be redone?

Flu shot
I did not get the flu shot and I 100000% regret it! My husband got the flu two weeks before I was to be induced. I made him sleep at his mom's house for the first few nights, but it was too late. I got the flu five days before I was to be induced. It sucked!!!

Re: Flu shot
I will be getting the flu shot. Actually, the first time I ever got the flu shot was during my first pregnancy. I want the baby to have some immunity.
As for the whooping cough- I got it in the hospital after DD1 was born. I see they're now recommending that women get it during pregnancy, with each pregnancy. I'm going to ask about that at my appt this week.
Anyone in close contact with the baby should also seriously consider both vaccines too.

Flu shot
DD was born in March and I did not get the flu shot. When DH (who DID have the shot) caught the flu in the hospital during my induction and baby and I were fine, it made me even more satisfied with my decision.

Flu shot
My plan is to get the flu shot also, my doctor recommended it. She said they had so many sick pregnant women in the office last year and it was horrible. I'm also looking into the Tdap shot. I'm leaning towards getting it. Especially with a December due date.

Re: Flu shot
Just got back from my 28 week appointment. The new recommendation for the pertussis/whooping cough vaccine is for all pregnant women to get it during pregnancy, in their 3rd tri, for each pregnancy. This way the baby gets immunity. So, even though I just had it 2 years ago and I am still protected, it's recommended I get it anyway for the baby's sake.
