Re: Need Excel Help!!
You would have to right click on the entire column and hit 'format cells' and then go to the protection tab and make sure 'locked' is checked. Then go to the other columns and do the same thing and uncheck the 'locked'. You would then need to go ahead and Protect the sheet by going to the Review tab and clicking 'Protect Sheet'. You can input a password on the box that comes up. Every time someone tries to edit that column a warning will display that they need to first unprotect the sheet. The columns which are unlocked will not display that warning HTH!

Re: Need Excel Help!!
- Highlight the column that CAN be edited - Go to Review > Allow users to edit ranges - Click on NEW (the colum/row cells will show) > OK > Apply > Protect Sheet - The top 2 check boxes should be checked off - Type in a password, which they will ask twice.
That should be it!

Yes - that I did - but I was hoping for a password prompt right there when a cell in that column is clicked... instead of having users go thru the steps to unprotect the sheet
