Microsoft Excel. .. question about the program
We have excel on the computer at work, I need to catch up on some work at home. Is there ANY way I can get the files on my home computer? I don't know if I put them on a flash drive if they would open on my computer if I don't have the program installed. any way to get a product id # off the work computer? thanks all :)

Re: Microsoft Excel. .. question about the program
At most companies doing something like this is against corporate policy.

Microsoft Excel. .. question about the program
You could download a free trial of office online. If you don't have excel then it won't open on your computer. Pulling a product key from work is likely not going to work unless you get a new one.
Another option is uploading the files to Google Drive and editing them online in Drive. But it would be limiting. I would suggest downloading office.

This. I work in information security and it's a no no. I'd check with your job and see if you can get VPN.

Microsoft Excel. .. question about the program
I would talk to someone in your IT dept. It's possible you could use VPN or Citrix to get to your desktop at work. Or maybe they have a company laptop you can use short term. You might also be able to get Excel to use on your home computer depending on your company's license. I was able to get Microsoft office (just paid a fee for shipping the disk) and could use it for as long as I was still with the company.

Re: Microsoft Excel. .. question about the program
Install "Open Office " on your home computer. It is open source and I use it to work in excel at home all the time.

Microsoft Excel. .. question about the program
If the company doesn't have a policy the easiest way would be to email the files to yourself. If you don't have xls at home you may want to get a version for yourself or what pp said, try getting vpn or citrix access.
