Convertible carseat for more compact backseat?
We are hustling because we didn't realize DS was so close to maxing out in height for his infant seat. Our backseat is a tight fit, his infant seat needed the passenger front seat allll the way forward. What convertible seat do you have that you like (rear facing) in your compact backseat?

The graco 4ever is really compact front to back. It fits in my husbands small car and fits in mine too.

We had our graco my size 70 in my civic and it worked but like the infant seat the passenger had to sit pretty far forward. It has a good max height too and I would definitely consider that in any seat if your LO is tall.

I have the evenflo triumph 65 lx for my older da in my civic and will be adding another soon with my younger DS. It's a good size and you don't need to retread the straps you can adjust by sliding them as needed
