Am I doing something wrong?

Our puppy keeps pooping in the house. The kicker is, its RIGHT after we bring her out. We stand outside with her for like 15 minutes, nothing, bring her in and within a minute of being back in, she poops on the floor. Is there something else I should be doing?

Nah. That happens sometimes. Puppies are harder than babies IMO.

Maybe after a walk when puppy doesn't go, put her in crate for a bit. Then take her out again. If she still doesn't go, back in crate she goes. They don't want to poop in crate.

She will get it sooner or later. Patience is key :)

Oh, thats a good idea!
How often should i be taking her out until she gets the hang of it? I cant tell yet when she actually has to go.

This is exactly what you need to do. Out and no poop, back in crate. Keep her in there like 10 minutes and then take her out again. The first few weeks of training can be hard, but she'll figure it out.

You take her out after she eats and drinks. And every couple hours in between.

It's gross, but try taking the poop she makes int he house and put it outside and bring her to it to smell. Once theres a few poops there, she may realize that's where she should be going.
also, make sure you are cleaning any indoor accidents with Nature's Miracle. Regular cleaner gets rid of the scent for you, not her. She still smells it.

Watch for signs, circling, sniffing, etc. Take out pup after eating, maybe about 5-10 minutes after. My adult dogs still have to go sometimes after eating. And bring your pup out every single time after eating, and even if a poop happens in the house, run the pup right out. Every time to reinforce. You can bring the poop outside and drop it on the ground. But def don't yell or say bad dog, (not saying you are or would!), just say want to go poo poo or something like that when you take her out.

Make sure you use natures miracle spray on the spots in the house to eliminate the scent

This is exactly what I was taught to do.

But how big is your dog. Potty training little dogs is much harder then big dogs. It was explained to me like this. Their spacial relations is much different. So they tend to think its ok to go off into a corner and do their business out of the main room. I was told that even when they are not crated, keep little dogs in a smaller area while potty training. Don't let them have the run of the house.

thanks everyone, she is a poodle/bichon mix, about 12 pounds when she is full grown. We are taking her out about every two hours and she is doing well. But we still have to be out there for a LONG time every time, even after crating her, which we are doing as you ladies suggested, if she doesnt go.

When they "get it" do they eventually somehow let you know, or will I continue to just take her out every two hours or so and "catch it"?

My dogs let me know overnight, when they refused to get out of the crate to go out during the night. That was the first sign. During the day, you just gradually increase the time and see, the less accidents, the more you know your dog is holding it. Try to go with the rule of thumb…one hour for every month of the dog's life. So 4 mths old, they can hold it 4 hrs, etc, as a general rule of thumb
