high amniotic fluid at 37 weeks
So I went in for a growth sono today, and the fluid levels are high. baby is also big, about 7lbs. 12oz.
They ruled out swallowing and breathing issues. He's fine in that dept. He has big femurs and humerus bones. DH is a big dude, and this is good news. DH was 9lbs 8oz at birth.
I lost almost 3lbs. this month.
So the only thing left to maybe worry about is GD, although I passed my earlier tests. I don't even know what they can do at this point. 2 weeks from today, I'm having a c-Section. what gives? what can we do? does anyone have experience with this?

Re: high amniotic fluid at 37 weeks
I don't have personal experience, but a friend had this with her pregnancy last year. It was caught a bit earlier, at 32ish weeks, and she had to go for weekly monitoring, but in the end all was well. They had wanted to induce her by 39 weeks, but she resisted and her baby was born perfectly healthy, about 8lbs at around 41 weeks naturally. My SIL is going through this now. Again, it was caught at 32ish weeks, she's been going weekly for fetal heart rate monitoring. So far everything is checking out just fine, but they will be inducing her at 39 weeks to be on the safe side. With only 2 weeks to go until your csection, easier said than done, I'm sure, but I'd try not to worry too much! Sometimes these things just happen for no real reason. Good luck!

Re: high amniotic fluid at 37 weeks
My Twin B has more fluid too and they were worried about all the same things. But I had my GD test and all was beyond fine. At this point they said baby just has more fluid and not really a big deal. When I read up on it it seemed it can be a cause for pre-term labor and a concern of cord prolapse during vaginal birth. But you are already 37 weeks so pre-term labor isn't really an issue and if you're having a c-section then cord prolapse isn't a problem ether. I think you're fine.
