Pcos and acupuncture
So I have been a long time pcos sufferer masked by years of birth control. I cannot get it under control at all no matter what I try. I have read a lot about acupuncture and was hoping for some insight from anyone who has tried. Dr Sandoval in Huntington was recommended but it's obviously out of pocket I am wondering if it's work the money?

Re: Pcos and acupuncture
I do not have PCOS but I have been going to acupuncture for the last few months for preparation of my first IVF cycle that just took place to and I have never felt better physically and mentally. If your insurance doesn't cover it, your company may offer discounts on it. I know mine did. (25% off).

Re: Pcos and acupuncture
I don't have any recommendations but a friend of mine who was trying for 3 years, went through tons of testing & procedures, was told she didn't ovulate but didn't know why... she stopped it all, stopped going to the RE & started going to acupuncture instead... 2 cycles later she got pregnant completely on her own, ovulated on her own & everything! Could it be a coincidence? Maybe, but the acupuncture certainly didn't hurt in her case. So I would say it's worth giving it a shot. She said it was expensive but totally worth it after all she went through beforehand. Unfortunately, she lives on Staten Island so I can't get a rec from her for LI.

Pcos and acupuncture
My input isn't based on pcos but any Acupuncturist that specializes in fertility issues knows how to treat any cause because they are mainly working on correcting imbalances. Advanced Wellness of Smithtown is excellent with fertility. I also know ppl who agree with the above posts about Dr. Yang and Ron Sandoval. Sandoval will work with your insurance as long as they don't require the acupuncturist be a doctor and Dr. Yang will give you paperwork to submit to your insurance for reimbursement after several sessions. To answer your question, I think it's worth a try

Re: Pcos and acupuncture
I have a pretty bad case of pcos. I did acupuncture for weight loss and it did not work for me, however, I am a firm believer in it and if I had the money would try it for fertility as well.

Pcos and acupuncture
To update had my first appointment today with Dr. Sandoval today. Went well and I do indeed feel relaxed. My insurance does not cover him but does cover other acupuncturist. I did more research on him and feel I should give him a chance. I'm going to go once a week for 3 months before either stopping or going on a less frequent basis. Hope to have some relief soon. My pcos symptoms are torterous!! Thanks for the input!
