DS eye still dilated two days after eye exam
My 6 year old had to go to the ophthalmologist on Thursday for an eye exam. She dilated his pupils and said it should return to normal within 24 hours. My husband read online that it can take longer for light eyed people to have the pupils return to normal. At this point it's only slightly dilated in his right eye but he's still having light sensitivity. Anyone else have a light eyed child that experienced this?

Are they back to normal?
This happens to my blue eyed kids, the light eyes definitely stay dilated long than dark eyes. Also, dr. explained that they use different drugs or a stronger dose to dialate children's eyes, so they often stay dialated longer than an adults.
I'd call dr. if you are worried, but sounds like he'll be fine. Remember to mention at next eye exam, they may adjust the dosage so dialation doesn't last as long.

my son, with dark eyes, 1st time his were done at age 3... were dliated for like 4 days straight. doc's office blew it off, needless to say i found a new doc. but yes, its totally possible to last for a while.
