silly Shutterfly question: pearl shimmer?
I'm making my Christmas cards on Shutterfly and its giving me the option of regular cardstock or pearl shimmer cardstock.
Any one ever order the pearl shimmer, and were you happy with it?

I recently ordered announcements on their regular stock and was not happy with the paper quality at all.

I usually order my xmas cards from them, and they always come out very nice. Folded cardstock ones.

I love the pearl shimmer. I do think it depends on the card though. Without the pearl shimmer the colors are matte. So sometimes the shimmer adds a bit of elegance to the card.

Thanks for all the input! Now I'm more confused than before, lol! What I'm mainly wondering is will the pearl shimmer make a big glare over the photos on the card? I usually order matte when I do cards on photo paper because I don't like how the light casts a glare on the photos from certain angles.

no, the glimmer won't be anything like it is on photo paper. you're getting a card stock with a little shine on it, not something that is entirely shiny surface like photo paper (if that makes sense)

I've ordered from them in the past. They changed their card stock in September. It's the new stock I was unhappy with. My previous orders were very nice.

The shutterfly ones I've gotten in the mail from other people look really nice. I wanted to use shutterfly this year but I find them to be alot of money even with coupons.

i ordered mine from tiny prints and i got the shimmer, it looks gorgeous and the paper is nice and thick. its not a shiny shimmer, its like a nice sheem over the pics and it doesn't create a glare over them.
