Unsalted.
If all I have is salted and I am being lazy about it, then I omit the salt in the recipe and it tastes fine.

I always use unsalted, I actually only bye unsalted, but if all you have is salted and the recipe calls for salt too I would eliminate the salt.

I use unsalted butter all the time (even in cooking) unless a recipe specifically calls out for salted butter. You have more control over the saltiness that way.

Either. And even if salted I nver cut out the other slat listed. It's never much anyway and never really even thought about until I just read the op say she omits the salt it calls for. Nothing's ever come super salty.
