Follicle but not ovulating?

I went to see doctor Brenner Monday night because when went for a consult in early November my lining looked thin. He wanted a recheck since that time was so close to my period. So my lining looked great (thank God) and he saw a follie about 21mm. He said I should ovulate very soon. I checked every day since on the kit (except when I forgot Christmas Eve) and still negative. Now up until my 2 MC's I was pretty regular, CD12-15. Now I'm CD 18 and it's still negative. We are not trying this month for so many reasons, but I wanted to really start tracking again for when we do our next IUI cycle. I thought for sure with the CM It would be today. Could it be a cyst? Or is it possible I just missed the boat Wednesday? I tested Tuesday night and Thursday morning.I'm a little freaked out. That thing must be gigantic if its still in there. I am terrified that there is yet again something wrong and unexplained. I was going to try to call today but I have an appointment on Tuesday with my gyn for a pap and figured I'd ask her if worse comes to worse. I don't know if this is a question or a vent anymore LOL!

I think you missed your surge. Even if you're testing every day, once a day you can miss it. Sometimes you can surge for less than 12 hours so unless you're testing twice a day (which is a good idea when you're in you're peak time) you could easily miss it. Hope you dtd anyway. gl!

I've def missed my surge with ovulation testing.
Doesn't happen often (once a year), but it happens.

it's rare but for whatever reason sometimes I do miss it.

Honestly, if you're not TTC this month then I'd stop with the OPKs and trying to figure it all out. When you're under the care of an RE you will be very closely monitored and probably trigger, ensuring that you O. So whether or not you O this month (my guess is you did and just missed it), really doesn't matter. Let the REs do their job next month, or whenever you decide to start under their care.
